My Approach to Therapy

If you've been looking into therapy, you've probably come across a bunch of acronyms—CBT, EFT, EMDR... and wondered, What do they actually mean?

The truth is, they're simply different ways of helping people.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, while giving you practical tools to navigate life's challenges.

EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) helps you better understand your emotions and strengthen your relationships—with others and with yourself.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps the brain process difficult or traumatic experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming.

You don't need to know which approach is right for you—that's my job.

Some clients love a more structured approach, where we explore how your mind works, learn new skills, and develop practical strategies you can use in everyday life. Others simply need a place to unload, sort through what's been weighing on them, and have someone listen without judgment. Most people move between the two depending on what they need that day.

My role is to meet you where you are. Whether you're looking for practical tools, deeper insight, or simply a space to breathe and be yourself, we'll work together to find an approach that feels natural, supportive, and tailored to you.
